This section reflects on my experiences, the lessons I’ve learned, and how they’ve shaped who I am today. It also gives insight into my future goals and the direction I want to take moving forward.

Lessons Learned

Throughout my life, I’ve learned that everyone goes through hard times, but it’s about how you handle them that really matters. There have been moments that weren’t easy, but I’ve learned to keep pushing forward and trust that things will get better. One of the biggest lessons I’ve taken is that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, even when it doesn’t feel like it at the time. Those experiences have helped me become more resilient and have taught me to stay positive, keep working, and not give up when things get tough.

Reflection on my time at STFX

My time at StFX has had a huge impact on how I see my life and my future. Coming from PEI, I was one of only a few people from my graduating class to leave and come here, while most stayed close to home. Growing up around the same environment, it’s easy to think that’s the path you’re supposed to follow, but coming to StFX showed me there’s a lot more out there.

Being here pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me realize that I can take a different path and create something for myself. I’ve grown a lot as a person during my time here, and it’s given me a new perspective on what I want out of life. Looking forward, I want to keep building on that, continue to grow, and take advantage of the opportunities in front of me.

Career Aspirations

Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a career in education. My experience as a substitute teacher has shown me how much I enjoy working with students and being in that kind of environment. I want to be someone who creates a positive and supportive classroom where students feel comfortable and motivated to learn. At the same time, I want to continue growing outside of my career by staying active, maintaining strong relationships, and continuing to improve myself. For me, it’s not just about having a job, but building a life that I enjoy.
