Dalhousie had never lost a game. Being part of a championship team required a high level of commitment, teamwork, and discipline, as well as the ability to perform under pressure. This experience strengthened my understanding of collaboration, leadership, and perseverance and reinforced the value of working toward a common goal. Contributing to a successful team environment is something I take pride in and continue to carry into both my academic and professional pursuits.

Active LIfestyle

I enjoy living an active lifestyle, such as playing weekly pickleball with my cousins, going for runs, playing sports year-round, hiking, and swimming. Staying active is an important part of my routine, as it allows me to challenge myself, stay disciplined, and maintain both my physical and mental well-being. I also value the social aspect of these activities, as they give me the opportunity to spend time with others while doing something I enjoy.

Family Time

Living away from home has made me realize how important my family is to me. Being on my own has helped me grow in independence, but it has also shown me how much I value the support and connection I have with my family. They have always been a big part of my life, and even while being away, their influence continues to shape who I am. This experience has helped me appreciate the importance of strong relationships and has reinforced how much I value staying connected to the people who matter most.

Gym

The gym is something I value enough to keep separate from my other active lifestyle section because it plays such an important role in my life. It is a daily part of my routine, and I rarely go without it. Beyond the physical benefits, the gym helps me mentally by allowing me to clear my mind, stay focused, and maintain discipline. It has become an important outlet for me and something that keeps me grounded, motivated, and consistent in other areas of my life.

Who Inspires Me?

The people who inspire me have played a major role in shaping who I am today and who I am continuing to become. Each of them has influenced me in different ways, whether through their work ethic, mindset, or the way they support and lead others. They have helped guide my values, push me to grow, and motivate me to pursue my goals. The impact they have had on my life is something I carry with me as I continue to develop both personally and professionally.

Clifton Strengths Test

The CliftonStrengths assessment helped me better understand my natural abilities and the strengths I bring to different areas of my life. Instead of focusing on weaknesses, it highlights the qualities that come most naturally to me and how I can continue to develop them. My top five strengths give me insight into how I approach challenges, connect with others, and grow both personally and professionally. Overall, this assessment has helped me gain a clearer understanding of who I am and how I can apply my strengths in my academics, athletics, and future career.

1.Empathy

Having empathy as my biggest strength allows me to understand and connect with others on a deeper level. I can recognize how others are feeling and respond in a supportive and thoughtful way. This strength is especially important in my teaching and personal training practices, where understanding students’ needs and emotions helps create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

2. Responsibility

3. Communication

Responsibility is a strength that shows in how I approach my commitments. From a young age, I worked on my grandfather’s potato farm, where I learned the importance of hard work, accountability, and being dependable. That experience taught me that others rely on you to get the job done properly, and I’ve carried that mindset with me ever since. Whether it’s in school or in the classroom as a substitute teacher, I take pride in being someone others can trust to follow through and handle responsibilities effectively.

Communication is a strength that allows me to build strong relationships and connect with others. I value being able to express myself clearly while also listening and understanding different perspectives. This was especially important when I helped organize the X Factor 3-on-3 Showdown, where strong communication was essential in coordinating with players, sponsors, and teammates. Whether it was organizing roles, sharing information, or ensuring everything ran smoothly, effective communication played a key role in the event’s success. Through experiences like this, I have been able to develop meaningful relationships and begin building a strong network of peers, mentors, and colleagues.

4. Command

5. Acheiver

Command reflects my ability to step up, take initiative, and lead when needed. This is something I developed over time through my experience in lacrosse. In my earlier years, I was more in the background and took on a quieter role within the team. However, by my fourth year, I had grown into a leadership position where I was more confident in speaking up, guiding others, and taking responsibility in key moments. This growth showed me that leadership is something that can be developed through experience and confidence. I have also applied this strength in other areas of my life, including teaching and group work, where I am comfortable taking control when necessary and helping move things forward.

Achiever shows in my strong work ethic and my drive to keep improving. I like to stay productive and push myself to reach my goals, whether that’s in academics, athletics, or personal development. One way this is reflected is through my commitment to the gym, where I consistently challenge myself and stay disciplined in my routine. I take pride in putting in the effort over time and continuously working toward becoming better in all areas of my life.

Overall, understanding my CliftonStrengths has helped me recognize how I can use my natural abilities more effectively in my everyday life. It has given me a clearer sense of how I lead, communicate, and grow through different experiences. Moving forward, I plan to continue building on these strengths and applying them in my academics, athletics, and future career, as I work toward becoming a well-rounded and effective professional
